After taking the two 40 pound packs on a nice tour through the NYC subway system and the Long Island Rail Road, Derrick and I arrived at JFK and are impatiently awaiting our departure to Reykjavik. Once we touch down, we will be spending our 15 hour layover attempting to capture the beauty of the Northern Lights. From there we will fly to London where we will drive on the wrong side of the road all the way to Strathcarron, Scotland, which will serve as our starting line to our crazy backpacking trek. The trip will take us across 135 miles of Scottish highlands over a 12 day span consisting of camping and taking entirely too many pictures of the scenery.
